Such a bad experience with this car park! The security in the shopping centre was so rude to foreigners like us and we had a friend walking on crutches begging for help but was ignored. The car park should only close the entrance and keep the exit opened so that the people can still collect their cars. Really awful experience will not park here again nor recommend it to anyone

I was here on Friday 12th November 2021 and opening hours on website said 9pm closing on Friday, but it got locked as I came 7:30pm and whole building was fully shut down. no one is answering phone and I am pregnant waiting in dark to get collected by as I have no way to go to Mallow! Unreal!

A disgrace of a car park. Unfortunately we made the mistake of thinking the car park would be open late on a Friday due to shops open late but this was not the case. I do not recall seeing any significant sign to say what closing time was and when we arrived back the place was locked up. The problem was this was only a stopover for some food and shopping on the way home from a break in Cork…we had a 3.5 to 4 hour journey home so we were stranded. We also had 3 young kids with us and it had started to rain….so miserable and wet we had no idea what to do as we could not contact anyone for assistance. As the kids were upset at this point we requested some help from the Garda and thankfully they managed to secure a room at a decent rate in a nearby hotel for the night. I see from previous reviews this is not an isolated incident and suggests there are issues with displaying closing times within the car park. Also the ticket references no closing time. Look forward to the “I don’t care” when I release car

€9.60 for less than 3 hours. Very expensive. Will find somewhere else to park next time.

I am currently a freezing stranded woman, car locked in at totally unreasonable hour and signage disgrace. No one answering the phone. If you message them- it’s says ring this number if urgent. They don’t answer that. They did see the message that I was locked in and stranded but ignored it. I’m absolutely appalled

I won't even recommend this parking place to my enemy. Scam of a parking area. Safe your the trouble and try else where for peace of mind. Car got locked day before my wedding and got my luggage inside.

Disgraceful shops still open and stupid car park closed at 18:05.

2 Aug 2021

If shops are open till 6pm , would it not be reasonable to have car park open till least 630 !!! The front and side doors into merchants quay all get locked also at 6pm . Cars locked in a lot id say judging by the amount of them there at 6 05 yesterday . Will never park there again ,I was lucky to get out,Paul Street car park far superior opening times , no wonder businesses have left merchants Quay!!!!! Awful

23 Jun 2021

Absolutely appalling!! 19:00pm is the closing time on the gate which I took a picture of go back to collect car at half 6 and everything locked up! And gona charge an awful over night fee for there mistakes!!

27 Sep 2020

Website with shopping centre details states it is open Until 18:30 - staff just cursed at myself and my young daughter and admitted the website unquestionably has led other customers to believe as we did that the car park was open until 18:30 - The man stated there was no website with Official car park opening times as it has changed since the pandemic ! Is the internet not the place to advertise clearly ? Or on car parking tickets . Integrity matters - clearly a Loyal customer of 20 years Counts for nothing to the two rude verbally aggressive staff on duty on Sept 28 th .

Checked website and it said car park open till 9pm Fridays - returned 7.45 everything locked up - you need to improve signage and warnings to people about the ridiculous early closing times!! Had to get taxi home, will have to get taxi back tomorrow and no doubt car park will try charge outrageous overnight fee. It’s the equivalent of false advertising to state car park is open till 9 and then charge people when you lock up early! Woeful service

7 Aug 2020

Had to sleep out in cork cause my car was locked in and it says at the front closes at 9pm and I was there just after 7 and my car was locked in would not recommend, was fun all the same but not the point . Disgusted #missedmyroastdinner

My car got locked in tonight Friday says on website that carpark closes at 8pm on another it says 9pm I was there at 7.35 and all closed up. I am going to be so angry when I go tomorrow to collect my car and see why it was closed before the time it stayed on opening times.

This car park is charging extortionate prices for parking in cork. Closing at 7pm on a Saturday is ridiculous when all.other carpark are open later. It is very confusing for people are not from the city. My sister is up there at 8pm after being locked out. She is car less and now has to try and find her way home to Dungarvan. This is absolutely disgraceful. I am reporting this to the social media forum for discussion.

21 Sep 2019

I parked there for 2 hours and 10 and I paid for 3 full hours. €9 a absolute scam in the city. Any other city car parks charge €1 . Cork city is dying a slow death because of the parking fees.

8 Mar 2019

Went to get click nd collect in debenhams took 15mins nd charged me €3. I was shocked didnt realise prices for parking had gone up.

28 Oct 2018

Parked on the Sat of the Jazz weekend. Went back for our car just after 7pm. Everything was locked up. Couldn’t believe it. €50 to collect it the next day! Disgraceful

10 Aug 2018

am absolutely appalled that it cost €50 as my car was locked in over night in Merchants Quay car park. I had thought the car park was open until 9pm on a Thursday night. It should be made clear that it closes at 7pm and there is an extortionate price at the unfortunate event of having your car locked in. It really baffles me as it is of no obstruction and clearly not taking up limited spaces whilst it is in over night, however they still charge this scandalous charge. Ye should be ashamed of yourselves. Very unhappy customer on this glorious Friday

26 Feb 2017

Shops open noon on Sunday and the car park the Sam? Surely it should be half an hour earlier - no good customer service

1 May 2015

I think it is a disgrace that this car park charges such extortionate rates to have your car released after hours. It costs €120 to have your car released after 7 pm on a Thursday, even though many of the shops open until 9 pm on that evening. Carrols Quay and Paul Street Car Parks are open until midnight, Grand Parade is open 24 hours a day, yet one of the main city centre care parks is open until 7 pm and charges €120 to have your car released at 7.30 pm when there is late night shopping. Such a money making racket. It is as a result of this that shoppers chose to take their business to the suburban shopping centres where they can park free of charge with no risk of car parks charging them €120 to have their car released when the shops are still open.
